Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C-East Aurora) has been appointed to serve on several key committees in the New York State Assembly for the 2025 Legislative Session, reflecting his experience and commitment to the people of Western New York.

DiPietro will serve as the ranking member of the Assembly Committee on Correction, where his advocacy for tough-on-crime policies makes him a natural fit for this leadership role. Failed policies such as Clean Slate, the HALT Act and Bail Reform have had damning consequences for first responders and residents across the state. DiPietro’s opposition represents the sentiments of voters in the region.

“I'm honored to continue fighting for policies that keep our communities safe and support our correctional officers who work tirelessly to uphold the law,” said DiPietro. “In addition, I'll keep working to cut taxes and reduce the size and cost of government so our small business leaders can invest in their companies and create jobs.”

In addition to the Correction Committee, DiPietro has been assigned to the Aging, Banks and Labor Committees. As a former small business owner, he brings firsthand knowledge of the challenges faced by entrepreneurs in New York. Having taken over his family business, he successfully increased sales and doubled the number of employees within his first three years.

DiPietro’s experience extends to the banking sector, where he previously worked in the Trust Division at M&T Bank in Buffalo and as a computer and accounting consultant to small businesses in Western New York.

DiPietro also has a proud record of supporting tax decreases and STAR benefits for seniors. DiPietro remains dedicated to creating a business-friendly environment, reducing regulatory burdens and lowering costs for seniors who have more than paid their debts to the state.

Lastly, DiPietro has been appointed to the Legislative Commission on Public Management Systems. The commission is tasked with examining methods to increase economy, efficiency, effectiveness and accountability in state government. It will evaluate organization, management and practices within the public sector to increase services for New Yorkers across the state.

Assemblyman David DiPietro has represented the 147th Assembly District, which includes parts of Erie and Wyoming counties, since 2013.
